The Last Laugh
1. The Beginning
A was a stand-up comedian.
On stage, he could make hundreds of people laugh.
But when the lights went out, he was just a man with an ordinary face — haunted by insecurity and loneliness.
Ever since his parents died in a car crash, A grew up believing no one could truly love him.
Until one day, he met her — a simple woman who saw not his looks, but his heart.
They married.
For the first time in his life, he felt chosen, worthy, whole.
It was a happiness he thought he would never deserve.
2. The Tragedy
The day his wife gave birth was supposed to be the happiest day of his life.
Instead, it became his nightmare.
The delivery went wrong — too much blood, too fast.
By the time the doctors came out, the room was quiet.
His wife was gone.
But in her place was a baby girl — S.
A shattered completely.
He wanted to give up, to disappear, to stop existing.
But when he looked down and saw the tiny hand clutching his finger —
he knew.
That was his reason to live.
Not to survive for himself, but for her.
3. Laughter Over Wounds
A returned to the stage.
Every joke, every smile, was a mask covering the hole in his heart.
But laughter became his weapon.
If he could make people happy, maybe the world would be less cruel — at least for his daughter.
Each day began early: making breakfast, packing lunch, walking S to school.
Each night ended late: performing under bright lights, collecting paychecks that barely kept them afloat.
S grew up knowing her father’s pain — but also his strength.
She watched him fight, laugh, and love her harder than life itself.
And so, she made a promise to herself:
“One day, I’ll make him proud. I’ll repay everything he’s done for me.”
4. Fifteen Years Later
A became a legend.
No longer just a comedian — but a symbol.
A man whose jokes were born from grief, yet healed the hearts of others.
S was now a teenager — bright, kind, and ambitious.
Together they lived modestly, but with a peace most people would envy.
It was, at last, a happy ending.
Or so it seemed.
After a major show one night — the biggest of his career — A drove home through the rain.
He never made it.
The crash was instantaneous.
He died before help arrived.
5. A Colorless World
Rain poured down at his funeral.
S stood before his grave, drenched, trembling.
Her voice cracked as she screamed at the cold earth:
“Why did you leave me?
What was the point of everything?
I studied, I worked hard — for you!
I just wanted to repay your love… but now you’re gone!
Tell me, what’s the point of living if you’re not here?”
Her words drowned in the rain.
From that day, the light in her eyes dimmed.
Everything that once gave her purpose — vanished.
6. Collapse
S tried to keep going.
But every morning felt heavier, every breath emptier.
She stopped studying.
Friends drifted away — unable to reach her through the silence.
Nights became endless.
She’d stare at an old photo of her father, the two of them laughing.
Her hands trembled.
Her mind whispered the same question over and over:
“If he’s gone… who am I living for?”
Then came the cuts.
Tiny, deliberate.
Each one a whisper:
“Wait for me, Dad.”
Her pain wasn’t loud. It was quiet — and that made it worse.
7. Epilogue
On her sixteenth birthday, S sat alone in her dark room.
In front of her lay a letter — the last thing she would ever write.
“I tried, Dad.
I studied, I worked hard, I smiled — just like you taught me.
But none of it means anything anymore.
You gave me love, but also the reason I can’t let go.
Without you, I’m just an empty body.”
That night, she left the world — not in tears, but with a faint, peaceful smile.
As if she was finally on her way home.
Days later, headlines appeared:
“Daughter of Beloved Comedian Found Dead in Apparent Suicide.”
And just like that, the world that once echoed with laughter fell silent.
The man who healed others with his jokes — and the daughter who loved him most —
both gone.
Two souls who lived for love,
and died as the cruelest punchline fate ever wrote.
